Narrative Reverberations: Community Conversations Around the World and Across Generations

17 Alliant International University Continuing Education Credits

We understand many people are on tight budgets; we pledge to do our best to make this gathering affordable.  In addition to the fee for cottage rental accommodation, the Narrative Camp fee includes:
  • Food:   Five catered lunches (Sunday-Thursday) and Sunday cookout dinner. Otherwise, cottages will be responsible for their own breakfasts and dinners, free to make their own arrangements to join up with others at any time. Please note: there will be a Potluck Dinner on Tuesday evening, June 18, 2019.
  • Program Fee (Sunday-Thurs: half-days): Rate covers a range of expenses including rental of The Projection house, snacks and videography.

Please note: We have reserved 10 spaces for local Vermont residents who wish to join us yet do not need accommodation.

We also welcome donations, which we pledge to put to good use to promote training, professional development and continuing education in a narrative approach to therapy, organizational, and community work. No donation is too small — or too large! All donations are tax deductible.

  • MM slash DD slash YYYY
  • When- and how- are you arriving and departing by car, train, plane or..? Will you need help getting to and from Thompson's Point, and perhaps getting grocery shopping en route? Are you considering renting a car? Or do you have your own car with room and time to help out? Please give us details about the help you need and what you can offer.
  • Are you interested in receiving Alliant CE credit for an extra fee? The CE application is labor intensive for such a multi-presenter gathering. We need a minimum of 15 people in order to make the effort worth it.
Narrative Camp will bring together practitioners/teachers across generations using a Community Conversations approach to group work created by Gaye Stockell and Marilyn O'Neil (Sydney, Australia). We will devote a 1/2 day to interviewing our elders - people approaching retirement - about their experiences of the past, present and future of Narrative Therapy. On the next day, we'll interview fresher voices in the field about what they are finding most engaging in their work. Would you like to participate? If so, how?
In addition to the Across Generations Community Conversations, we will gather in groups around shared themes in two contexts: mornings and informal pre dinner conversations. We will also leave plenty of space for continuing conversation around emergent topics. Which of the following most interests you?
  • Do you notice a missing topic that is important to you?
  • Do you like to sing and/or play an instrument? Any women? We will put you in touch with 5 men musicians who have already started talking/dreaming together: Michael Castelli, Dean Lobovits, David Pare, Will Sherwin, Pierre Blanc-Sahnoun.
  • Do you like to dance? Do yoga? Tai Chi? Cycle? Hike? Kayak? Canoe? What special talents would you like to share with others? We are particularly looking for folks with water safety skills/experience who can help us ensure we are always safe on the water.
  • As time gets closer, we'll send more details about the schedule, meals, potluck, etc. Anything come to mind that you'd like to add at this point?
  • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
