Registration for Queer Counseling & Narrative Practice with Charley Lang – our first online course in the Narrative in Action Series –  is now open!  Registrants can earn 8 continuing education credits through Union Institute & University! Once you register, you’ll have six months to complete the course at your leisure.

This self-paced course is organized into four lessons, each of which should take about two hours to complete (an eight hour commitment)  – with additional opportunities for participation. We’ve set up space in The Conversation Forum for registrants to interact with each other and with Charley, around specific questions linked to  course topics. All registrants are also invited to participate in a live Webinar on Sunday, November 16, 2014. Anyone who isn’t able to attend the actual live event can still watch the recording, and then join in the online conversation.

We’ve had fun getting this course ready – putting finishing touches on the course material, learning how to build in participation, creating new videos, and developing multi-media presentations. We’re committed to  creating state-of-the-art online learning based on our five  guiding principles: 1) creating a collaboratory, 2) “te whakaakona” (a New Zealand Maori term that  brings together into one word the concepts of teaching and learning); 3) making space for multiple voices,; 4) flipping the classroom; and 5) building dialogue, creating bridges. Best of all, the course is user- friendly, easy to navigate, and adaptable to portable devices.
