Registration for Queer Counseling & Narrative Practice with Charley Lang – our first online course in the Narrative in Action Series – is now open! Registrants can earn 8 continuing education credits through Union Institute & University! Once you register, you’ll have six months to complete the course at your leisure.
This self-paced course is organized into four lessons, each of which should take about two hours to complete (an eight hour commitment) – with additional opportunities for participation. We’ve set up space in The Conversation Forum for registrants to interact with each other and with Charley, around specific questions linked to course topics. All registrants are also invited to participate in a live Webinar on Sunday, November 16, 2014. Anyone who isn’t able to attend the actual live event can still watch the recording, and then join in the online conversation.
We’ve had fun getting this course ready – putting finishing touches on the course material, learning how to build in participation, creating new videos, and developing multi-media presentations. We’re committed to creating state-of-the-art online learning based on our five guiding principles: 1) creating a collaboratory, 2) “te whakaakona” (a New Zealand Maori term that brings together into one word the concepts of teaching and learning); 3) making space for multiple voices,; 4) flipping the classroom; and 5) building dialogue, creating bridges. Best of all, the course is user- friendly, easy to navigate, and adaptable to portable devices.

Hi.
I’d like to learn this online course “Queer Counseling & Narrative Practice”.
Thank you
Hi Valentina!
Thanks for your interest in this course – and for your patience in waiting for it to be ready. I marvel at how you are eagerly anticipating this course from Romania. The course is indeed nearly ready- Charley Lang has done a fabulous job bringing together four multi-media lessons. In June-August, 2013, you were a big help as a test pilot for our first course, Narrative Therapy: Foundations & Key Concepts. Among many lessons, we learned to wait this time until September – a time for new beginnings for those of us in the northern hemisphere. This timing will also give us the opportunity to put some finishing touches on the course, and to get the word out that is is coming. How does this sound to you? Any ideas?
Peggy
Hi Everyone.
I am very excited to know that this course is ready to start in September.
Thank you Peggy and Charley.
I read in the internet about Andrew Salomon visit in Romania in this summer and about the attutude toward his presentation in Bucharest.
I was concerned to hear about that situatian.
Valentina
Hi I am having a terrible time as I cannot sign up for the course as the internet will not allow me to get on the page. I have sent the error information to Peggy as I did not know where else to send it. I specifically wanted to sign up for Queer Couseling and was rebuked! I can see it here at work but I need access. Help!
Hi Iphi!
I’m happy to help!~ Sorry it’s taken me this long to respond- I’ve been in India for 3weeks. Email me and we’ll figure this out together!
Peggy
Hi Charlie and Peggy, I cannot tell where I am supposed to put my responses. I can tell you that I now realize how very illtechnlogical I am. When I press check here, I can see what Peggy wrote but not where or how to respond. Help!
Thanks,
Iphi
