Greetings! Here are seven photos to give you a sense of my life in South Africa.
Bikers saying farewell to Mandela from the Union Buildings. We had a ride of honor in his memory from Houghton, Johannesburg to The Union Buildings, where we released balloons and gave him the traditional bikers farewell.
Cullinan is a small town close to Pretoria, with an active diamond mine. Its quaint old world charm always pleases me.
EFF made Thembisa Red. South African political parties are competing for votes for the national election taking place on 7 May 2014. This political rally happened yesterday (February 22, 2014)… ANC Youth League vs Economic Freedom Fighters, headed by Julius Malema.
I have lived in this modest home since 1991. This is my favorite spot in the garden . We are permitted to have open fires here, and it is a family ritual to gather at important times and light the fire in the front garden, telling stories and being together.
I work at this Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation centre, Clearview Clinic. It is on an agricultural holding 30kms from my home, and used to be a wedding venue. It has been turned into a drug and alcohol rehab and I was instrumental in writing the narrative therapy program.
We live 850lm away from Margate, in KwaZulu Natal, but ride our bikes down there every year to be near the ocean and enjoy the coast with fellow bikers from all over the country. We normally stay at a holiday resort 30km out of Margate, called Umzumbe and spend the week riding around in the beautiful green valleys of KZN.
