Working with Couples Consultation Group
with Larry Zucker, LCSW
Welcome! I hope that this consultation group will provide you an exciting opportunity to develop your narrative practice with couples in a small, safe and supportive context. We will divide the time up evenly so that everyone gets their share of the group’s support. We will develop clear guidelines for presenting our work and our questions to each other. We will meet monthly to give ample time to experiment with ideas and methods between meetings. The group will be limited to 8 participants. Beginning in Septmber 2017, once the group is formed.
The first of the monthly meetings will on Sunday, November 5th, at 5 pm EST. PLEASE NOTE: THAT DAY COINCIDES WITH DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDING IN THE US, so be particularly careful to check the corresponding time in your time zone.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me at email@example.com.
Larry Zucker, LCSW, presented a 2015 Vermont workshop and subsequently created the online course Escaping Blame: Helping couples develop account-ability. Larry has been practicing therapy and training therapists for over 30 years. He is a frequent presenter for- and participant in- The Collab Salon including Tales of Integration with Lynne Rosen (September, 2016), Introducing the new online course with Peggy Sax (August, 2016) and Escaping Blame (February, 2015). Larry’s background in social work and community organizing led him to see people in context, and to focus on strength and resiliency. Larry is committed to escaping blaming frames of reference in a field that encourage therapists to see people and relationships as problematic. He prefers seeing people as embedded in normal problems of living, full of untapped skill and knowledge for creating the lives and relationships they want, despite difficulties encountered, and to seeing therapy as a relationship that helps bring forth that knowledge.
Venue: Zoom Meeting Room
We use Zoom for “meetings on a cloud” that bring together faculty and participants from around the world. Whether for The Collab Salon or a course webinar, these meetings usually last about an hour (sometimes a bit longer, but usually not more than 1-1/2 hours). Events are recorded, and then become available on-demand afterwards to Collab Members - or course registrants - whether or not able to join in real time.
